Generation Structure

The Loui Family genealogy uses a generation numbering system centered on Warren & Rose:

GenerationDescriptionKey People
Generation -1Great-grandparentsBenito & Ines (Betty’s parents), Chinn grandparents (Florence’s parents)
Generation 0GrandparentsJesse Chan, Betty Chan, Florence Chinn Loui, Wallace Loui

Generation 2Children (current young adult generation)Nicholas Loui, Ryan Loui, Samantha Loui

Why This Structure?

  • Centered on Warren & Rose: They are the focal couple, so they’re Generation 1
  • Consistent across branches: Rose’s siblings are also Generation 1, Warren’s siblings are Generation 1
  • Easy to query: Dataview can filter by generation-1 tag
  • Scalable: As great-grandchildren are born, they’ll be Generation 4
